SUMMARY:Love Your Lakes: Leave No Trace When Paddling in the Adirondacks
DESCRIPTION:With more than 3\,000 lakes and ponds\, and 30\,000 miles of rivers and streams\, the Adirondacks are a paddler’s paradise. Whether you are planning a day trip close to town or an overnight adventure in remote lakes\, explore all the ways you can follow “leave no trace” principles to help protect habitats\, wildlife\, and water quality. Speakers from the Adirondack Mountain Club\, Northern Forest Canoe Trail\, and Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program will cover best practices to prevent the spread of harmful invasive plants and animals for new and experienced boaters alike. Co-hosted by the Adirondack Watershed Institute at Paul Smiths College\, before you head out for your next big adventure\, make sure you know where to find one of AWI’s free boat wash and inspection stations nearest to you in the ADKs.
